Building an Online Presence for a B2B Business
A small but well-established business approached us with the goal of building an online presence. Initially, the company wanted to create a simple brochure website to showcase their products and services, with the long-term aim of expanding to a full e-commerce platform.
The client primarily dealt in bespoke business-to-business (B2B) orders. After recognizing that many orders were for similar products, the business saw an opportunity to streamline their process and boost sales by displaying products online.
The process involved six key stages:
- Brief: Conducted a tailored half-day requirement gathering workshop and follow-up sessions to explore project direction.
- Research: Performed competitor analysis and user research to define the site map and feature list.
- Skeleton: Built wireframes to define the website structure and key user journeys.
- Styling: Created a style scape with fonts, colors, and real photography from the business.
- Visualisation: Delivered Photoshop designs and Invision prototypes, refining the design through three iterations.
- Development: Developed the site using a WordPress theme, though the project was halted before testing.
The project gave the business a strong foundation for future growth and an improved ability to attract and engage customers online.
