Tribunal Service Data Collection Automation
The tribunal service needed to automate a portion of their data collection process. They were using a complex and confusing web-based form on WordPress, which was causing user frustration and inefficiencies in data handling.
Challenges and Objectives:
- Simplify the data collection process to improve user experience and accuracy.
- Ensure the new solution adhered to Government Digital Service (GDS) design standards.
- Meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility requirements.
Process:
- Initial Approach: Explored using Dynamics portals but faced technical and accessibility limitations.
- Design: Developed wireframes and prototypes following the GDS design system.
- Development: Built the new form using .Net to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Accessibility Testing: Performed rigorous testing to ensure the solution passed WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
The final solution successfully automated data collection, improved the user experience, and reduced user errors. The service met government service standards and passed all required accessibility audits.
